Earlier this week, it was announced that Nokia would be forming a partnership with Microsoft in the wake of Nokia losing rapid market share in the smart phone market to the likes of Apple and Google. This “strategic alliance” would see Nokia a smartphones adopt Microsoft’s operating systems on their devices and ditch their once popular Symbian operating system. Is this a good move? Should Nokia have selected Google’s successful Android operating system instead? Can Nokia and Microsoft realistically be able to gain ground on Apple and Google?
